According to the World Tourism Organization Spain is the second country in the world that receives the most foreign tourists, second only to France. Spain receives 7% of world tourism, even more than the United States and Italy. In fact, Spain (along with Italy) houses the most number of places that have been declared World Heritage Sites by the Unesco, with more than 40 sites. The most visited locations are the Mediterranean coast and the islands (especially the beaches) but it's also noteworthy to mention the incredible cultural offer of the interior, as well as the many international events located in main cities.
