This ranking classifies how far the eight "current" planets of our solar system are from the Sun (along with Pluto, which since 2006 is no longer considered a planet). If heat is noticeable in summer and cold in winter, just imagine the temperatures that planets closer or further to the sun must withstand. By the way the word "planet" was used in the ancient geocentric theory to designate the seven starts that are visible with the naked eye and that move in relation to the stars in the sky: the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. With the advent of Copernicus" heliocentric theory, the Earth was considered a planet (the year was 1543) and the Sun and Moon ceased to be considered planets.
