(15 votes)

Thousands of players from all corners of the planet have had the chance to play in the World Cup, held every four years since 1930 (with the exception of 1942 and 1946). Some of them have gone down in history for several reasons. This list shows the soccer players that have scored the most throughout all the events they have participated in. French player Just Fontaine scored 13 goals in the 1958 World Cup, and it remains the highest number of goals scored in one championship. Brazilian player Ronaldo, however, holds the first spot in this ranking. Ronaldo was part of the Brazilian team that won the United States 1994 World Cup when he was only 17, although he didn't actually play a single game. In the three following World Cups, however, he managed to become the top scorer of the history of this competition.
