Strictly speaking, the first airplane was created in 1890, but it only flew 50 meters. Since then aviation has not stopped growing and evolving. In fact, the most recent air traffic studies state that there are more than 2 and a half million flights around the world on a monthly basis. This signifies a massive number of passengers like those taking-off and landing in airports like Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International, which received 89,379,288 passengers in 2007. This ranking lists world airports by the number of passengers flying through their terminals throughout the year.
