This ranking lists the 500 companies with the greatest gross revenue on the planet, based on data obtained from Fortune Magazine. As can be seen in this ranking, the economic volume of the world's largest companies greatly exceeds the GDP of most of the world's countries. As regards the source where this information was obtained, Fortune is a business publication that is part of the Time Warner division. It was created in 1930, four months after the Wall Street Crash. Fortune Magazine is especially known for publishing rankings measuring wealth, the best companies to work for and all kinds of studies related to the world of finance.
