Ranking of the Most Numerous Animals on Earth »

(16 votes)

The most numerous species on the planet is very likely an arthropod (probably an insect such as beetles or ants). This ranking, however, focus exclusively on mammals, listing the average number of mammals from each species that exist throughout the world. We have not found any reliable source to back up this information. Therefore, this ranking has not been contrasted with any other source; it is merely the result of a superficial study based on the Internet. Therefore we do not recommend using this information for any serious study or project.
