Ranking of the World's Most Populated Continents (2010) »

This ranking shows the incredible demographic weight that the Asian continent has in the global context. Thanks to countries that are extremely populated like China or India, Asia is home to practically two thirds of Earth's inhabitants. On the other side of the spectrum we have Antarctica, which barely has a permanent population, as its tenants are merely temporal. Another curious observation seen in this ranking is that most of the world´s population lives in the northern hemisphere: the population densities of continents like South America and Oceania are visibly smaller than their northern neighbors.
