There are numerous mountain ranges in Spain and they occupy up to half the national territorial surface area. The Pyrenees Mountains (which are on the northeast border between Spain and France) and the Baetic Mountains (in the southeast)are the highest mountain ranges and are located outside of the Meseta Central (Inner Plateau). Surrounding the Meseta Central are the Cantabrian Mountains (Cordillera Cantabrica) in the north, the Sistema Iberico in the east, and the Sierra Morena in the south. Inside the Meseta Central is the Sistema Central and the Montes de Toledo. This ranking lists mountains in Spain (including the Canary Islands) whose altitude exceeds 3000 meters (9842.52 feet).
